Once you are done with your travel research regarding Alchi, you will need the details on the accommodations available to you. With mid-budget accommodations you can enjoy a more comfortable stay with better services and facilities provided and you don’t need to shell out truckloads of cash. Here are a few options available to you.

  • Hotel Samdupling

Located at a walking distance from the Alchi Choskor Monastery, this is one of the popular places to stay in, with all the basic facilities of laundry, hot water, a travel desk, doctor on call, etc. It stands on the Leh-Srinagar highway, right beside the Indus river which makes for a beautiful location with scenic views of the river and the mountains. It has a beautiful flower garden surrounded by apple and apricot orchards. Since it has only 14 rooms, try to book your rooms before the start of the tourist season. You will find this place conveniently close to the other monasteries in Sham valley, Rizong, Saspol and Lamayuru.

The tariff per night for a room occupied by two people will come around INR 3500. Breakfast is complimentary. However for an additional charge of INR 500, you can also include either lunch or dinner.

Formerly a farmhouse, and now converted to an eco-resort, this is the only place which provides a complete organic stay, with fruits and vegetables grown in its own campsite and hydro powered electricity. The pretty fruit orchards make a very nice resting and relaxation spot. There is a path in the premises which will lead you directly to the banks of the Indus River. The resort provides two kinds of accommodation options, tents and cottages, the latter a bit more pricier (about INR 1000 to INR 2000 more). Simplicity, eco-friendly and natural surrounding splendour are the highlights of this resort. They also organise adventurous trips like hiking, rock climbing and rafting.

Tariffs begin at INR 3000 and can go up to INR 4500, depending on your needs.

With 10 imported double tents, 8 clean shared bathrooms and one common dining room, this camp promises you a wonderful outdoor camping experience and at the same time, not compromising too much on comforts. Though the brochures dubiously claim these as Swiss cottages, the tents are nonetheless comfy and carpeted. This one is a popular option for those who wish to have a different accommodation experience which does not include brick walls and roofs.

The tariff is around INR 2700 with breakfast and a full meal included in it.
