Which are the popular restaurants in Dwarka?

A world of Krishna Bhakti surrounds the whole town of Dwarka. And rightly so, for it was believed to be once his residence and the political seat of his own kingdom. For those who know even a little about Krishna, they’ll know how much he loved makhan (pure, home-made butter) and the abundance of food. Fables associated with Krishna and food are in plenty, when sometimes the miraculous lord ate only a grain of rice to fill his, and a hundred other sages’ stomachs (in the Indian epic, Mahabharata). Thus food and Krishna Bhakti is almost inseparable, where Dwarka is no exception.

You’ll find several stalls and vendors selling typical
Gujarati and Indian snacks and meals, purely vegetarian though. Each has its own little story and there will be a bunch of regulars who would swear by its food. Others would argue that food at some other stall is way better, but what better than forming your own opinion - let your taste-buds rejoice while they decide their favourites! Several people swear by the Warm Flavoured Milk at Shyam Sunder Milk Parlour near the main Dwarkadhish Temple, best enjoyed at night. Also keep in mind that alcohol is strictly prohibited in this city.

There are however no standalone restaurants of repute in Dwarka. Most hotels have their own in-house restaurants, so you can be sure to have your tummies filled and happy before and after your sightseeing tours. Again, mirroring the rest of the city, these hotels too have pure
vegetarian food on the menus, even if they offer multi-cuisine options.

So go forth and embark on a culinary adventure, while you discover those hidden treasures for the foodie in you. Food and divinity - a holiday that’s just perfect, yes?
