  • Main Bazaar

    Going by its name, this market is one of the best shopping hubs in Ooty. It is located at the central hub of the town. So, everything that is majorly produced in the town specifically, and all those basic necessities such as cutlery, crockery, etc are all available in significant varieties here.
    Check out this place specially for the aesthetic paintings and handicrafts produced by the local artists and the vast variety of tea and coffee flavours. Also, the market has a good store of local clothes and local food items specially during the festivals.
    You can try Shivani Stores for authentic Ooty chocolates, honey, spices and gourmet cheese.
    Do remember to bargain confidently.

  • Commercial Road

    This important roadway passes through the foothills of the Nilgiris, and is an important commercial destination of the town. Various shops and stalls have been set up along the roadside. You will find here a number of Kashmiri and local shops.
    Lay your hands on gloves, socks, etc starting at INR 10 and jackets starting at INR 100. So, take plenty of good warm clothes from here.

  • Tibetan Market

    Located almost opposite to Ooty Botanical Garden, this market again is a very apt place to buy decent yet inexpensive woolen clothing such as sweaters, caps, gloves and much more. The local flavour is very prevalent here and will definitely induce you to explore it more.

There is also a famous shop in Ooty (located on Commissioners Road) named Mohan's which will be like a one stop shop for everything including antiques and local handicrafts. Don't miss on Nilgiri products such as eucalyptus oil, Toda embroideries, fruits and much more.
