The Ashoka Inn

I had an extremely disappointing experience staying at Hotel Ashok in Shimla. To begin with, the location itself was very inconvenient and difficult to reach, especially for anyone unfamiliar with the area. The approach roads were poor, and there was little to no proper guidance or assistance provided.What made matters worse was the behavior of the hotel staff. They were rude, unprofessional, and completely uncooperative throughout the stay. Basic requests were either ignored or handled with a lack of courtesy, which made the entire experience frustrating and uncomfortable.Overall, the stay was far below expectations. Poor accessibility combined with unhelpful staff made it one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Shimla.

We stayed there for two nights in December 2025. Overall a very pleasant experience. Their staff behaviour is extremely polite. Their hospitality is admirable. The hotel has its own restaurant and the food quality is also very good. It’s distance from Shimla mall is about 15 minutes walk, but the atmosphere is very relaxing. They also provided cab services. Highly recommended.

Location was off , cab can't reach the place. Property was old, furniture was old.. rooms not good

The hospitality and humanity of this hotel is good,but rest all is fake. The photos are fake. Completely opposite of what is shown in the photos of MakeMyTrip and other portalslocation is near Mall Road but to reach there is a very big task because nobody is ready to come with your luggage to drop you there, so you have to pay a lot extra for the taxi,but yes, humanity and service wise this Hotel ranks number one, but luxury is zero.The price we paid was 3 to 4 times higher than. This Hotel deserves so the price does not justify the stay.
